Robert L. Metzger

Robert L. Metzger, age 85, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at New Dawn Retirement Community in New Philadelphia.Born on March 31, 1919 in Tuscarawas, Ohio, Robert was the son of the late Oscar E. and Bessie A. (Nussbaum) Metzger.Robert was a member of the Christian Worship Center in New Philadelphia. He was also a World War II Veteran.Robert is survived by his loving sons; Randy L. (Linda) Metzger of Bolivar, Kenneth R. (Portia) Metzger of Florida and Dan E. (Dianne) Metzger of Goshen. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, and one brother and five sisters.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, the late Carol M. (White) Metzger, who died May 5, 2000, a grandson, two brothers and a sister.Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2004 from 10:00 to 11:00AM at the Christian Worship Center in New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Robert’s life will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 11:00AM at the Christian Worship Center with Rev. Norman Shetler officiating.
