Robert L. “Tip” Faulkner, Sr., 81, of New Philadelphia, and formerly of Leetonia, OH, died Monday, Apr. 22, 2002, in Union Hospital, Dover, following a brief illness.Born Jul. 15, 1920, in Georgetown, OH, he was a son of the late Fred and Bessie Faulkner. Tip was a high school graduate, and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He retired from N.R.M., Columbiana, in 1982.Tip was a member of the United Methodist Church in Washingtonville, Our Sons of Italy, and a social member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed watching football, football parlies, and gardening.Survivors include his former wife, Rose Vaughn Faulkner of New Philadelphia; five daughters, Mary Jane Vaughn of Wooster, Cathy (Adam) Pickens of Lisbon, Marie (Bud) Stiffler of Salem, and Diane (Ed) Campbell and Wilma Maenz, both of New Philadelphia; three sons, Robert (Cheryl) Faulkner of Leetonia, Jon (Kathy) Faulkner of Dover, and George (Nancy) Faulkner of East Palestine; twenty-six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a brother, Fred Faulkner of Dayton;In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timmy Faulkner, and a sister, Opal Hart.A funeral service will be held Friday, Apr. 26, 2002, at 1:30 p.m., in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home, New Philadelphia, with Pastor Larry Fletcher of the First Assembly of God, New Philadelphia, officiating. Burial will be in East Avenue Cemetery, New Philadelphia. There will be a reception in the Geib Family Center following the committal. Visitation will be Thursday, Apr. 25, 2002, 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
