Robert L. Blosser, Sr. 72 of 414 Oak Street, Sugarcreek, died Monday, June 23, 2003 at Aultman Hospital following an 11 month illness. Bob was born May 3, 1931 in Sugarcreek to the late Paul and Alta (Schneider) Blosser. He graduated from Sugarcreek-Shanesville High School in 1949 and served in the United States Army being stationed in Germany. In 1953, Bob started to work for Ranson Andreas at Andreas Furniture, where he stayed for 40 years, retiring in 1993. He later worked as a manufacturer’s rep. traveling the state of Ohio. Most recently he was employed as a salesman for John’s Wood Shop in Berlin, Ohio. Bob was a member of Homer Weiss Post American Legion, an avid bowler, having bowled on leagues at Sugarcreek Lanes ever since they opened for business, President of Guys and Dolls league and Sugarcreek Industrial league for many years, and was a member of the Tuscarawas County Bowling Hall of Fame. He was also active in Boy Scouts for many years, serving as committee member and cubmaster, and was a member of Sugarcreek United Methodist Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher, board member, choir member and soloist.Bob is survived by his wife Sara Banks Blosser who he married on June 5, 1971, Sons; Bill Blosser of Sugarcreek, R.Lee (Christy) Blosser, Jr. of Sugarcreek and Mike (Sherry) Blosser of Orville, seven grandchildren; Jersey Blosser of Sugarcreek, Mitch Blosser of Conesville, Amy, April, Shaun and Amber Blosser of Orville, Bobbie Jo Weaver of Fresno and two great-grandchildren Britany and Joseph Beckett of Baltic. Also surviving are his sister Beverly McCall of Tallmadge, brother Bruce (Sylvia) of Canton and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.Funeral services will be held on Friday June 27, 2003 at 11:00 AM at the Sugarcreek United Methodist Church, 212 N. Broadway, with Rev Dairel Kaiser officiating. Interment at East Lawn Cemetery in Sugarcreek, where Homer Weiss American Legion Post will conduct military graveside services. Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Boy Scout Troop # 91, c/o Vance Glidden, 564 Elm St. NE, Sugarcreek, Ohio 44681.Smith-Geib Funeral Home in Sugarcreek is handling arrangements.(Smith-Geib Sugarcreek 330-852-2141)
