Robert L. Bean

Robert L. Bean, 75, of New Philadelphia passed away Friday morning, November 22, 2013 in his home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in his family’s New Philadelphia home on June 9, 1938, he was the son of the late Hugh Rosevelt and Erma Marie (Welfley) Bean.

After completing his formal education, he joined the United States Army where he honorably served his country.

On December 5, 1965 he married his lifelong friend and companion, the former Catherine S. Mutti. Together they were active members of Community of Christ in New Philadelphia.

Bob’s professional career spanned more than 44 years with Marsh Industries as an operator. Over the years, he enjoyed working alongside his son at their family farm and together hauled saw dust to many area farms.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Catherine S. Bean; his siblings, Mary Lou (Richard) Baab of Navarre, Jo Ann (Jerry) Torgler and Sue (John) Campbell, all of New Philadelphia; his sisters-in-law, Cora (John) Welling of New Philadelphia and Agatha Mutti of Brewster; and special family members, Paul, Susan, Lindsey, Mitchell and Logan Morehead as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his son, Richard Hugh Bean on May 20, 1996.
No public visitation or service will be held with cremation being cared for through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover.
