Robert Haney

Robert Dean Haney, 76, of Uhrichsville, went home to be with the Lord on June 26, 2023, in Walnut Hills Retirement Home following a period of declining health.

A son of the late Willard and Annabelle (Reichman) Haney, Bob was born October 14, 1946 at Dennison, Ohio.

Bob was retired from Tuscarawas County where he was a supervisor.  In his spare time, he loved to race dogs and stock cars.  He was a fixture at Midvale Speedway, where he shared his expertise for many years.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

On August 6, 1966 he married his wife Patricia McDonald and together enjoyed 48 years of marriage before her passing in March of 2015.

He is survived by his brothers, Terry (Roberta) Haney and Craig (Lisa) Haney both of Dover; sister-in-law,  Cynthia Haney of New Philadelphia; nieces and nephews, Lori (Brian) Miller of Sugarcreek, Holly (Frank) Lehigh of New Philadelphia, Mike (Alicia) Haney of Dover, Ryan (Veronica) Haney of Gnadenhutten, Taylor Haney of Zanesville, Nikki Shafer of Lancaster, Josh Rader of New Philadelphia, Kerry Haney of New Philadelphia, Mindy (Tom) Hardman of Stone Creek and Amy (Matt) Harding of North Carolina; great nieces, Marsha (Jeremy) Herron of Sugarcreek, Kerianne Hardman of Stone Creek, Kristin Fago of Columbus, Olivia Shafer of Lancaster, Zoey Smart of Gnadenhutten and Emma Hardman of Stone Creek; great nephews, Christopher Sigler of New Philadelphia, Russ Erwin of New Philadelphia, Tanner Smart of Gnadenhutten, and Alex Haney of Dover; and many other extended family members.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother, Tim Haney.

In keeping with Bob’s wishes cremation care has been entrusted to Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.  A graveside service will be announced at a later date.
