Robert Eugene Lee

Robert Eugene Lee, 71, of Dover, died Saturday, October 26, 2013 in Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.

A son of the late Newton and Nancy (Mattern) Lee, Robert was born January 22, 1942 at Cadiz, Ohio.

Robert attended Uhrichsville High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a longtime employee of Republic Steel retiring after 35 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at Dover. Robert was also a member of many other organizations which include the American Legion, the VFW Honor Guard, a life member of the Tusco Rifle Club, Pinney Mountain Sportsmens Club, a life member of American Fisherman, National Rifle Association and American Hunter Association.

Robert is survived by his sister, Lozetta Armstrong of Dover; two brothers, John Berry of Canton, Ohio and Neil (Pat) Berry of Greenville, Michigan and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jeanette (McGuire) Lee whom he married on April 24, 1961 and three sisters, Sarah Lucille Berry, Viola Dunlap and Geneva Kay Spaar.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. Father Jimmy Hatfield will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at Dover. In keeping with Robert’s wishes, cremation will follow the services and inurnment will take place in Dover Burial Park at a later date.
