Robert E. Clark, 86, of New Philadelphia and formerly of Steubenville, passed away peacefully in the Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia on March 22, 2013.
Born in Steubenville on July 19, 1926, he was the son of Everett and Alvina (McGrew) Clark.
Robert honorably served his country in the United States Air Force after completing his high school education. He then spent a number of years as a concrete finisher for Jefferson County Burial Vault. He was also owned Clark’s Concrete and Gift Shop and ultimately retired from St. John’s Medical Centers as the head grounds keeper.
Robert’s faith was nurtured at Weirton First Church of the Nazarene.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, the former Betty Jane Nelson, who would have celebrated 67 years of marriage on April 11; his children, Paul (Sharon) Clark of Cambridge, Ohio, Pamela (Larry) Fogle of Steubenville, and Darlene (John) Bombardier of New Philadelphia; his sister-in-law, Glenda Clark of Hickory, PA; his sister, Carol (Albert) Patrone of Steubenville; 9 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his son, Robert; and his brother, Donald.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation will be cared for through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
