Robert Dale McMillen

Robert Dale McMillen, Jr., 60, of Leesville Lake region, died Tuesday, February 20, 2007 in Aultman Hospital at Canton, Ohio.A son of Roberta (Mason) McMillen of New Philadelphia and the late Robert Dale McMillen, Sr., Bob was born December 7, 1946 at Dover, Ohio.He was a 1965 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and then graduated from Kent State University. Bob was a former school teacher at New Philadelphia High School and most recently he was employed as a Sales Representative for Aflac.Bob was a member of the First United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia where he enjoyed singing in the choir and he was very active with the Boy Scouts of America. Throughout his lifetime, he was affiliated with Boy Scouts and was most recently the Scout Master of Troop 90 at New Philadelphia. Bob had also accomplished the rank of Eagle Scout.He enjoyed woodworking and tending to his garden and was an outgoing person who enjoyed being in the company of his friends. As part of Bob’s outgoing personality, he had an uncanny ability to meet new friends. But most of all, Bob cherished his family and the time he spent with them.Bob is survived by his loving wife, Dee (Thomas) McMillen whom he married on July 26, 1969 in the Grace Lutheran Church at Dover, his daughter and her husband, Lori and Chuck Schreiner of Port Washington; a son Mike McMillen of New Philadelphia and his fiancé Amanda Rauschenbach; his dear grandchildren, Adam, Haley, Hannah and Brooke and a niece and nephew, Shannon and Darby McMillen.He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Dan McMillen.Family and friends may call in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Friday, February 23, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Bob’s life will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel with Dr. Rev. Steven Bailey officiating.
