Rita V. Yoris

Rita V. Yoris, age 78, of Hennis Care Center at Dover and formerly of New Philadelphia, died Sunday, November 16, 2008, in Union Hospital at Dover.Born in Austria on August 24, 1930, Rita was a daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Chinichini).Rita worked as a clerk for the JJ Newberry store in downtown New Philadelphia for a number of years and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia.Rita enjoyed summertime when she could work outdoors on her vegetable garden and tend to outdoor chores.Additionally, Rita enjoyed baking and sharing those goods with her extended family during their many gatherings.Rita is survived by friends she considered her family, George and Norma Smolak of Uhrichsville; a god-daughter, Rose (Tim) Stanley of Tuscarawas, and their family; son, Zane (Jen) Stanley of Grand Rapids, MI, and their children, Mason, Zoe, and Hayden; and a daughter Heidi Stanley of Manhattan, NY., Christopher (Teri) Smolak of Dennison; and their family Skyler and Sierra Smolak. In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by a brother, Father Eugene Yoris, and an aunt, Julia Dalpaiz.Friends are invited to call Thursday, November 20, 2008, from 6 to 8 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A Christian Wake service will be prior to the beginning of visitation at 5:45 PM. Father William Arnold will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial in the Sacred Heart Church at 11 AM on Friday, November 21, 2008. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Following the committal, a luncheon reception will be held in St. Ambrose Hall, adjacent to the church.
