Rita M. (Ruffini) Hochstetler, 65, of New Philadelphia died April 29, 2002, at her residence following an extended illness.Born October 16, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Rudy and Wilma (Conley) Ruffini. Rita retired from Miller Studio in New Philadelphia after working as a hand decorator for 30 years. She was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and family.Surviving is her husband of 19 years, Eli J. Hochstetler, of the home, whom she married December 2, 1982; two daughters, Sally Vance of Dover and Linda (Jeff) Lesjak of New Philadelphia; three sons, Bob Demattio of New Philadelphia, Tom (Tammi) Demattio of New Concord, Terry (Adela) Demattio of Miami, Florida; four sisters, Irene (Bruce) Herron of Salem, Rose (Terry) McDonald of Zanesville, Lianne (Wayne) Martin of Roxboro, North Carolina, Theresa (Clarence) Clum of New Philadelphia; a brother, Rudy Ruffini and Rita of New Philadelphia; twelve grandchildren; and two step-children.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Alpeter and Katherine Moore.In accordance with her wishes, a private memorial service will be held at a later date and there will be no calling hours.
