Richelle Culler

Richelle Lynn “Shelley” Culler, age 48, of New Philadelphia went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 7, 2018, while in Nationwide Children’s Hospital at Columbus following a hard fought and life long battle with Cystic Fibrosis.

A daughter of Richard and Paula (Baczewski) Reid of New Philadelphia, Shelley was born at Steubenville, Ohio on November 26, 1969.

She was a 1988 graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School and earned her Pharmacy Degree from The Ohio State University. Shelley worked for many years at the former Morgan and Phar-Mor pharmacies before joining Walmart nearly a decade ago.

Shelley’s life was her family. She loved being a supportive and loving mother who always made time to be in attendance for her children’s sporting and school activities. In her free time, she loved reading and vacationing at any location with a beach, especially the Outer Banks and Grand Cayman. She will be well remembered by her family and friends for her quick wit, sharp sarcasm and a positive “can do” attitude.

In addition to her parents, Shelley will be missed by her husband, John Serafini; her children, Devin Culler and Braden Culler; her step-sons, John C. Serafini, Carlo Serafini, and Gabe Serafini; a brother, Christopher (Kimmie) Reid of Columbus; a niece, Hayden and two nephews, Alex and Jake. Also surviving are special aunts, Barbara and Patti; and many other family members.

Shelley was preceded in death by an infant brother, Robert Michael Reid, a brother, Nathan Matthew Reid and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

The family will greet guests on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 5-8 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where a Christian Wake Service will begin at 7:45 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be led by Father Tyron Tomson on Friday at 10:30 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia. A meal and fellowship will immediately follow in St. Ambrose Hall, adjacent to the church.
