Richard P. Gasser

Richard P. Gasser, age 74, of Brightwood, died Sunday, August 8, 2004 at his residence.Mr. Gasser, who was a lifetime resident of the area, was born in Dover on January 9, 1930 to the late Albert Gasser and Vera (Maurer) Gasser.Mr. Gasser was a former Tuscarawas County Commissioner. He retired from Frontier Power and he was also a skilled carpenter having built many homes in the area. He was a carpenter teacher at the Buckeye Joint Vocational School as well.Mr. Gasser is survived by his loving wife, Betty (Fowler) Gasser of the home. He is also survived by seven children, three step-children and many grandchildren and his beloved dog, Blastus who he loved very much.Friends may call on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 from 7-9PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2004 at 1:00PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home with Rev. Debbie McFarland officiating Burial will follow in East Avenue Cemetery.
