Richard L. Harig, Sr., 64, of New Philadelphia, died Wedneday September 8, 2004 at Union Hospital in Dover following a lengthy illness. He was born April 20, 1940 at Dennison, Ohio to Earl L. and Thelma I. (Espenschied) Harig and had been employed as an auto mechanic at the former Weaver Cadillac and Buick dealership of New Philadelphia, Richard was a quiet man who enjoyed fishing, crafting lures, building model train villages and was well known for his magnificent gardens.Richard was preceded in death, by his parents; brothers, Donald Harig, and Tony Harig; and a sister, Mrs. Don (Carol) Carlisle.He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jeff (Jody) Pringle, of New Philadelphia; son, Richard L. Harig, of Dennison; brothers, Jim Harig, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Dennis Harig, of Muskogee, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Jesalyn and Jilayne Pringle of New Philadelphia; great granddaughter, Chasity Hawk of New Philadelphia; and his former wife, Sharon Lee Harig, of Dennison. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 14, 2004, 2 PM, at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory of New Philadelphia with Rev. Larry Fletcher officiating. Friends and family may visit Tuesday at the funeral home from 1PM till 2 PM. Burial will be at Roxford Church Cemetery in Dennison.
