Richard Lee Gallagher, age 66 of Newcomerstown died Friday, July 17, 2015, while in the care of Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia.
A son of Norma Jean (McCauley) Gallagher of Orange City, Florida and the late Edward Richard Gallagher, Rick, as he was best known to family and friends, was born at Akron, Ohio on February 19, 1949.
Following his graduation from Tallmadge High School, Rick entered the United States Army where he served during the Vietnam Conflict.
Professionally, Rick owned and operated his own landscaping business in Palm Coast, Florida for many years. Rick also had a very mechanical mind and greatly enjoyed fixing and rebuilding automobiles and was especially fond of sports cars. He also loved keeping up on the lives of his immediate and extended family.
In addition to his mother, Rick is survived by his sister, Pam Gallagher; a niece, Stephanie (Mike) Cicero; a great-nephew, Jack Cicero and a great-niece, Charlotte Cicero all of Rochester, New York.
In addition to his father, Rick, was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no public visitation or service with cremation care being conducted by Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Charlene Opphile, his aide for the past two years, Better Home Health Care, and Community Hospice.
