Richard Lee Wells, age 74, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Oak Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Baltic, Ohio.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Ann Wells and was the son of the late Howard Kelly and Grace Ellen (Taylor) Wells.
Richard served his country as a member of the US Army from 1963 to 1965. Prior to his retirement, his primary profession was as a tool and gauge inspector for The Timken Company.
Richard was passionate for life and often he would be singing and whistling. He enjoyed traveling, dining out, crossword puzzles, shopping, and photography. He was enthusiastic for the Cleveland Indians and NASCAR races but most of all; Richard loved every moment spent with his family.
A member of Dover Baptist Temple, Richard was also called to serve as a deacon in the church. Additionally, Richard was a member of American Mensa.
Richard is survived by daughters, Marnie (John) Lanzer of Arlington, TN, Leslie (Steve) Foster of Pewaukee, WI, and Jennifer (David) Glass of New Philadelphia, OH; grandchildren, Erika (Justin) Harju of Clarksville, TN, Alex Lanzer, Arlington, TN, SrA Jacob Lanzer, Grand Forks AFB, ND, and Savannah Glass and Felicity Glass of New Philadelphia, OH.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 10 am in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home Chapel at New Philadelphia with Pastor Christopher Rhodes officiating.
