Richard Dean Polen

Richard Dean Polen, age 62, of Ragersville, died unexpectedly in his residence on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.

A son of Dean and Heidi Liegl Polen of Dundee, Rich was born in Union Hospital at Dover on July 1, 1959. He was a 1977 graduate of Dover High School and has had a lengthy career with the Belden Brick Company at Sugarcreek.

In his time away from work, Rich enjoyed hunting, shooting, being outdoors, and visits from his family.

In addition to his parents, Rich is survived by his daughters, Dana (Jeremy) Basiletti of Dover, and Kristina (Andrew) Casida of Toledo; his grandchildren, Camryn, Christian, and Coleson Basiletti, and Hudson Casida who is expected in May. Also surviving are his siblings, Sue (Craig) Edwards, Therese (Lynn) Kuhn, and Kate (Jay) Dalpaiz as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Rich’s wishes there will be no public visitation or services. Cremation care will be handled through the Geib Funeral Center at Dover.
