Richard C. Wolfe, age 86, of Dover and formerly of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, January 05, 2010, in Country Club Retirement Center at Dover.A son of the late Ira and Mary (Miller) Wolfe, Richard was born on January 19, 1923, at New Philadelphia.Richard was a 1940 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and entered into the United States Army on March 30, 1943, serving tours of duty throughout World War II. Following his discharge, Richard married the former June Williams who preceded him in death in April of 2007.As one of the few pioneers in photo processing and finishing within the Tuscarawas Valley, Richard would own and operate the former Wolfe’s Photo Service at New Philadelphia until 1980. He would later go on to work for the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services. An active member of the Dover Moose Lodge, Richard served as an Administrator within the Lodge and would also hold positions on the state level. Within the organization, Richard was given opportunities to travel with his wife and together the couple would enjoy the fellowship of those they befriended.Richard will be deeply missed by his family, a daughter, Barbara White of New Philadelphia and four grandchildren, John Richardson of Columbus, David White, Deborah White, and Daniel White all of New Philadelphia.Two nieces, Sandy Stewart of New Philadelphia and Shirley Stewart of Lorain, Ohio complete the family.In addition to his parents and wife, Richard was preceded in death by two sisters, Jennie Stewart and Martha Hauenstein.The family will celebrate Richard’s life by gathering in the home of his daughter, Barbara, 623 4th Street NW, New Philadelphia, on Friday, January 8, 2010, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM.
