Richard A. Menefee

Richard A. Menefee, Sr. 58, of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday morning, April 6, 2005, at his home.Born February 10, 1947, in New Philadelphia, Richard was the son of the late Robert Lee and Thelma Marie (Garrett) Menefee. After finishing his education at New Philadelphia, he went to work as a mechanic.Richard will long be remembered as a person who loved fishing and working on cars as well as an avid country music fan. In addition to his hobbies, he often spoke of his grandchildren and loved spending time with them.He will be sadly missed by his companion of 12 years, Barbara Hudnall of the home; a daughter, Angela Menefee; two sons, Richard Jr. and Edward Menefee; grandchildren, Orey and Jocelyn Menefee; sisters, Betty Gleitsman of New Philadelphia and Janet (Lewis) Hunter of Barnhill; brothers, Dale (companion, Alice Fulton) Menefee of Morristown, Robert (Dee) Menefee Jr. of Barnhill, and Donald Menefee of New Philadelphia; special friends Tex Sullivan, Chad Hudnall, and Anthony Hudnall; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Francis and Raymond “Mike” Menefee.Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2005 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia. A funeral service will begin at 11:00am on Wednesday in the funeral home’s chapel with Rev. Bob Jones officiating. Immediately following the service, a committal service will take place at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia.A reception will be held in the Geib Family Center in New Philadelphia immediately following the committal service.
