Reverend Vincent Carmen Del Re, age 82, of New Philadelphia went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 25, 2011, in Hennis Care Center at Dover following a period of declining health.Born at Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on July 3, 1929, Vincent was a son of the late James and Jennie Belletti Del Re. Vincent was a 1947 graduate of Liberty High School at Bethlehem and continued his formal education at Moravian College at Bethlehem.Vincent served as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. On August 18, 1951, he married the former Joan E. Buchhaupt. Together the couple reared five children.For many years Vincent led others to the Lord as a Pastor with the Assembly of God and the Foursquare Gospel Churches. Following his retirement, he remained active in the ministry throughout the area.Visiting with his family was one of Vincent’s many enjoyments in life. Additionally, he was a talented woodworker and upholsterer and took the opportunity to use his talents in a business fashion. Other hobbies included making and working with model airplanes and trains.In addition to his wife of 60 years, Vincent leaves behind a family that includes four daughters, Victoria Caulfield of Manchester, New Hampshire, Jennifer (Douglas) Manter of Hooksett, New Hampshire, Carolyn (Brian) Stutz of Dover, Ohio and Elizabeth (Michael) Bennett of New Philadelphia; and a son, Vincent C. (Karen) Del Re, Jr. of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Eleven grand-children and nine great-grandchildren complete the family.In addition to his parents, Vincent was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Del Re.The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor Larry Fletcher will lead a celebration of Vincent’s life on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 11 AM in the First Assembly of God Church at New Philadelphia. Burial will follow in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia where members of the New Philadelphia VFW will render military honors.Following the service, the family will return to the church social hall where a meal and fellowship will be shared.The family requests memorial contributions in Vincent’s name to be directed to the First Assembly of God Missionary Fund, 742 Cookson Avenue SE, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
