Renate G. Davis

Renate G. Davis, 79, of Gnadenhutten, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022 in Community Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia, following a period of declining health.

Born in Frankfurt, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Wilhelm H. and Hildegard M. (Krick) Schloss and had retired as an accountant from Davis and Associates, where she was a co-owner along with her husband. Renate enjoyed camping and fishing but was happiest when she was around the water. She loved spending “Happy Hour” with her friends at their place on Lake Erie and being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Renate is survived by her son, Troy (Lisa) Shaver of Wooster, her daughter, Tania Shaver of Gnadenhutten, her step-son, Aric Davis of Amsterdam; two grandchildren, Danielle Shaver, and Angela (Shawn) Kerstetter; seven great grandchildren, Makayla, Emily, and Blake Greene, Peyton and Isabelle Kerstetter, Xavier Robinson, and Renate McGuire and two brothers, Gert (Dagmar) Schloss and Rolf (Regine) Schloss, both of Germany.

In addition to her parents, Renate is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Davis and a brother, Bernd Schloss.

In keeping with her wishes, Renate is to be cremated through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
