Rebecca S. “Becky” Tucker-Watson, 74, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016 in the Cleveland Clinic.
A daughter of the late John F. and Marguerite C. (Bichsel) Tucker, Jr., she was born in New Philadelphia on January 27, 1941.
Becky graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1959. Before retiring, she was employed at Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia as a secretary.
In May 2001, Becky received the “Gift of Life,” a new kidney, and spent the rest of her life spreading the word of importance of organ and tissue donation; and became a member of the Akron – Canton Transplant Recipients International Organization.
She is survived by her high school sweetheart, James B. “Jim” Watson, whom she married on August 21, 1960. She is also survived by her children, Debra S. (Reynold) Wisintainer of New Philadelphia, and Steven J. (Lori) Watson of Gahanna; two granddaughters, Emily and Rachel Watson of Gahanna; step-grandchildren, Lauren Wisintainer of Las Vegas, Nevada, Evan and E.J. Wisintainer of New Philadelphia, Amy (Chad) Festi of Dover and Scott Finley of Strasburg; two step-great grandchildren, Noah Festi and Hunter Finley; sisters-in-law, Martha Sue Kidd – Tucker of Westerville and Laurel “Lolly” Roll of New Philadelphia; three nieces and two nephews, several aunts and many cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John F. Tucker, III; son-in-law, Gerald E. Finley and brother-in-law, James E. Roll.
In keeping with Becky’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. Cremation care will take place through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
