Rebecca Frances (Carlisle) Clerici, 96, of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at her home.The seventh of nine children born to the late Robert Donaldson and Bertha (Stoecklin) Carlisle, Rebecca was born July 15, 1911 at New Philadelphia, Ohio.Mrs. Clerici graduated from Midvale High School in 1929 and worked at the A&P, Bonvechio’s Restaurant and at the age of 70, she retired from Beaber’s IGA at New Philadelphia. She was a member of the Community of Christ, AARP and the Tuscarawas County Senior Citizens.She kept a legacy of her family and extended family by making photo albums in order to tell a picture story of the many events and happenings in her life. She loved reunions with her family and the huge extended Carlisle family.Rebecca lived the last 40 years of her life in the family farmhouse that was built by her parents. She had fond memories of swimming in the Tuscarawas River, which was directly across Route 416 from the farm, and the many family picnics and gatherings.For years, Rebecca crocheted trim around wash cloths and passed them out to friends and relatives. She always had a pot of very strong Maxwell House coffee ready for anyone who stopped to see her and was willing to try it.She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Mikoloski of Placentia, California and Margaret (Richard) Simmons and Louise Harris both of New Philadelphia. She is also survived by one sister, Roberta Warner and four grandchildren, Abby (Les) Koyanagi of Placentia, California, Carolyn (Michael) Rede of Temecula, California, Susan (Kevin) Brown of Peyton, Colorado and David Harris of Burbank, California; eight great grandchildren, Adam and Eric Koyanagi, Jacob and Christina Rede and Brianna, Jesse, Rachel and Samuel Brown; two step granddaughters, Anna Raczek of Anaheim, California and Terri (Tom) Cobb of San Ramon, California and four step great-grandchildren, Neil and Taylor Raczek and Lindsay and Laura Cobb.Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband, Louis F. Clerici, who passed away on December 21, 1988; a grandson, Rick Simmons and eight brothers and sisters.Family and friends may call on Sunday, December 23, 2007 from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Rebecca’s life will be held on Monday, December 24, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel with Elder Ron Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
