Raymond A. “Tony” Wiegand, 66, of Bolivar, died early Friday, January 19, 2018, in his home following an apparent heart attack.
Born in Union Hospital at Dover on June 7, 1951, Tony was a son of the late Earl A. Wiegand, Sr. and Jean M. Gornek Wiegand.
Tony was a 1969 graduate of St. Joseph High School at Dover and served in the US Army Reserves as an MP. He spent most of his professional career in the machining industry where he was a maintenance technician and retired from Morgantown Machine in 2015.
Among Tony’s many joys in life was time spent with his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed working in his yard, playing video games and caring for his dogs.
He leaves behind his companion, Peggy Shinabery of the home; a daughter, Lisa (Mike) Steer of Dover; two step-sons, Ryan (Angie) Shinabery and Jon (Sandy) Shinabery; his beloved grandchildren, Trenton (Emily) Bennett; Keira Shinabery, Alexandra Shinabery and Katelyn Shinabery; and was expecting to become a great-grandpa in February.
Completing the family are his siblings, Jeanette (Jerry) Hunter, Diana Wiegand, Joe (Pat) Wiegand, and Tom (Lisa) Wiegand and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Wiegand, Jr. and an infant sister, Dorothy Wiegand.
In keeping with Tony’s wishes there will be no public visitation or services. Cremation care has been conducted by Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover.
