Raymond Seeley, 87, of New Philadelphia, died early Friday morning January 26, 2007, at his residence.Born September 18, 1919, in Poughkeepsie, New York, he was the son of the late Gerard and Carrie (Hermann) Seeley.In 1939, Raymond graduated from Poughkeepsie High School. Raymond entered the United States Army Infantry on November 26, 1940. In 1941 he entered the United States Army Air Corps glider pilot program. Raymond flew missions over Europe during World War II and served his country until his discharge on June 10, 1946.On March 1, 1943, Raymond married the late Audrey M. Peters Seeley who passed away on April 28, 2006.Raymond retired in 1979 after 25 years of service as a route supervisor at the Fitchett Brothers Dairy in Hyde Park, New York. After retirement, Raymond enjoyed tennis, fishing, and trips with his granddaughters. In 1989, he and his wife moved to New Philadelphia to be close to his family. He and his wife were avid readers and enjoyed visiting their friends at the Tuscarawas County Public Library. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Seeley was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Seeley.He is survived by his daughter, Kris (Brion) Kenline of New Philadelphia; two granddaughters, Lisa (fiancé Lee Bonlarron) Kenline of Canton, Ohio, Brooke Kenline of Columbus, Ohio; brother, Gerard (Stella) Seeley of Raleigh, North Carolina; brother-in-law, Roy T. Peters of St. Louis, Missouri.Visitation will be held Sunday, January 28, 2007, 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Linn-Hert Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Mr. Seeley will be interred in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W. Third Street, Dover, Ohio 44622.
