Raymond L. McCartney, 63, of Uhrichsville, died Monday, April 14, 2003, at Twin City Hospital in Dennison.Born in Canton on November 13, 1939, he was a son of the late Emmet and Marie C. (Meisner) McCartney.After completing his education in Dover, he worked for many years at the former Leatherman Seed in Canton as a warehouse manager. More recently, he enjoyed collecting antique tools and watching old westerns on television.In addition to his wife, Mary Lou (Jones) McCartney, whom he married on November 18, 2000, he is survived by his brother, Randy (Brenda) McCartney of Somerdale, O.; a niece, Michelle McCartney of Orlando, Fl; step-daughters, Bev (John) Mack of New Philadelphia, Brenda (Doug) Stafford of Midvale, Betty (Larry) Incarnato of Dover, Barb (Dan) Stemple of Uhrichsville, and Dianne (Les) Skelly of Beach City; step-sons, Bill (Carol) Robb of New Philadelphia, George (Barb) Jackson of Uhrichsville, and Sye (Tammy) Jackson of Strasburg; 22 step-grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia McCartney who passed away in 1999.Friends may call Thursday, April 17, 2003 from 5 to 8 pm at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia. A funeral service to celebrate Raymond’s life will be held on Friday, April 18th, at 10:30 am in the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Steven Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia.
