Raymond Emery

Raymond A. Emery, 75, of Dover, died Monday, August 4, 2014 in his home following a lengthy illness.

A son of the late Arthur and Almeda (Crabtree) Emery, Raymond was born October 8, 1938 at Dennison, Ohio.

On September 15, 1963, Raymond married the love of his life, the former Edna Rennicker, and together they raised three daughters, Kelly, Rachael and Andrea. The couple shared 43 years of marriage prior to Edna’s passing on July 14, 2007.

Raymond retired as a longtime truck driver for Mast Trucking. He enjoyed working on cars, attending races and fishing. Raymond will especially be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his amusing stories.

He is survived by his daughters, Kelly (James) Starr of Dover, Rachael (Mike) Wainscott of Strasburg and Andrea (Dave) Murray of Dover; his grandchildren, Brian and Justin Bernhart of New Philadelphia, Danielle Shoup of Uhrichsville, Antony Wainscott of Bolivar and Hannah and Olivia Murray of Dover; a great grandson, Killian Bernhart and an expected great grandson, Payton Shoup; two sisters, Janice Lehman of East Canton and Francis Zook of Missouri and two brothers, James Emery of Canton and Walter Emery of New Philadelphia.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a brother, Harvey Emery.

In keeping with Raymond’s wishes cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. The family will celebrate his life with a balloon release and a time of fellowship on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 6 p.m. at Deis Hill in Dover. The family requests those attending bring a covered dish.
