Ray P. Griffith

Ray P. Griffith, age 69, of Gnadenhutten, died unexpectedly in his home, March 28, 2008.
Born July 7, 1938 in Center Township, Guernsey County, Ohio, Ray was a son of the late William Pearley Griffith and Bertha Berger Griffith.
Ray was a 1957 graduate of the Tuscarawas Warwick High School. An avid outdoorsman, Ray enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and camping. Throughout his life, he worked as a small engine repairman and for the former Michigan Sewer Pipe Company. On December 23, 1967, Ray married the former Sally J. Green. The couple observed their 32nd wedding anniversary together prior to her death July 1, 2000.
Ray is survived by a daughter Karen (husband Keith) Malloy of West Lafayette, Ohio; a son John (wife Lori)Griffith of Stonecreek; a daughter Tanya Griffith of Canton; and daughter Tammie (husband David) Young of Dennison; three sisters, Alice Long of Gnadenhutten, Joan (husband Robert) Jarvis of Gautier, Mississippi, and Barbara (Jack) McKeowen of Uhrichsville. Seven grandchildren complete the family.
In addition to his parents and wife, Ray was preceded in death by three brothers, Chester Ankrom, Paul Griffith and Harold Griffith; and a sister Frances West.
Pastor Sam Brown will lead a memorial service Wednesday evening, April 2, 2008 at 7PM in the Emmaus Chapel at Tuscarawas where friends are invited to call one hour prior to services. Cremation will be cared for by the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
