Ralph Lewis Mitchitell, age 78, of Tuscarawas, died peacefully while in the care of Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.
A son of the late Ralph R. and Ethel E. (Daugherty) Mitchitell, Ralph was born at Uhrichsville and attended the former Uhrichsville High School.
For a number of years, he worked as a Master Mechanic for the Ohio Operating Engineers Union and was a member of the William E. Donehue Post 7943 VFW at Tuscarawas. In his spare time, Ralph enjoyed working with computers. He loved spoiling his grandchildren when they were growing up. His eyes lit up when they visited him at Park Village.
He is survived by a daughter, Susan (Ken) Case, Sr. of Henrico, Virginia; son-in-law Matt Durbin of Tuscarawas; grandchildren, Ken (Becky) Case Jr. of Shady Side, Maryland, Danielle Case of Chicago, Illinois, and Luke Durbin of Tuscarawas; two great -grandchildren, Rylee and Klara Case of Shady Side, Maryland.
In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Ann Durbin.
In keeping with Ralph’s wishes, cremation will take place through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover with a private burial to take place in Union Cemetery at Uhrichsville.
