Ralph Grasselli, Sr.

Ralph Joseph Grasselli, Sr., 91, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Ohio’s Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia.

Born in New Philadelphia on January 9, 1934, he was the son of the late Santi M. and Ruby F. (Dotts) Grasselli, Sr. 

After completing his formal education at New Philadelphia High School, Ralph joined the United States Army serving from 1955 to 1958. After completing his service to the country, Ralph began his 30-year career with the City of New Philadelphia in the water department.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife, the former Nancy Lee Richards, whom he wed on June 27, 1959; his sons, Ralph (Betty) Grasselli, Jr. and Anthony (Deana) Grasselli, both of New Philadelphia; 10 grandchildren including Joshua (Alicia) Ritenour; his brother, John Grasselli and his sister, Francine Peters, both of New Philadelphia; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in passing by his daughter, Starr Grasselli; and five sisters and four brothers.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 9:30 am to 11 a.m. A service will begin at 11 am with Ross Brown officiating. Following the service at the funeral home, the New Philadelphia VFW Post #1445 will render military honors. A private burial will follow in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
