Ralph Basiletti

Ralph Basiletti, 56, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, September 11, 2014 in the Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness.

A son of Lester Basiletti Sr. of New Philadelphia and the late Marie (Grasselli) Basiletti, Ralph was born October 19, 1957 at Dover, Ohio.

Ralph graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1977. While still in high school, he started his 37 year long loyal career with Buehler’s Grocery Store as a production meat cutter. Ralph was also a member of the New Philadelphia V.F.W. Post #1445.

He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, as well as attending yard sales and cooking. He was an avid sports fan with his favorite teams being the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers and Indians as well as The Ohio State Buckeyes.

In addition to his father, Ralph is survived by his wife, Pamela (Bell) Basiletti whom he married on March 13, 2013; his siblings, Rev. Santi (Claudia) Basiletti of Miami, Florida, Jo Ann Brown of Gnadenhutten, Lester Basiletti Jr., Robert (Laurrie) Basiletti and Harry (Ruth Jean) Basiletti all of New Philadelphia; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and his beloved dogs, Sadie and Juno.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 15, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Ralph’s life will be held in the funeral home’s chapel on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Burial will follow in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Following the committal service a luncheon will be held in the New Philadelphia V.F.W. Post #1445.
