Rachel Ann Aleshire

Rachel A. (Smith) Aleshire, 67, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at Hennis Care Center in Dover. Born in Dover on December 4, 1936, she was a daughter of the late George Delbert and Vernice Jenkins Smith and was a 1954 graduate of Dover High School. She married Ronald L. Aleshire on May 10, 1958 in Cincinnati. Rachel retired as a bookkeeper from London Electric in London, OH in 1994 at which time she and Ron relocated to New Philadelphia. Along with Ron, she was a member of the Dover Elks’ Lodge No. 975.Her husband Ron died February 5, 2002.Rachel is survived by daughter Dianne (Nick) Britt of Columbus; two grandchildren, Hayley and Alex Britt; step-mother, Anna Smith of Stillwater; sister, Midge (Harry) Overton of Dover; and several nieces and nephews.In keeping with Rachel’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
