Priscilla Ann (Ridenour) Gray, age 76, resident of Perry Township, passed on while battling colon cancer and Alzheimer’s disease at Claymont Health and Rehabilitation Center on the 8th of April 2018.
Priscilla was born in Akron on November 16, 1941, to John Frank and Dolly Joyce (Denny) Ridenour. She married Harold Curtis Gray on September 22, 1963.
She graduated from the University of Akron and taught elementary students for a few years before moving to the Gray family farm and later having children of her own. Priscilla is best known for her 15 years at Eureka Hardware in Newcomerstown.
She was a longtime, active member of West Union United Methodist Church in Gilmore. She was also an amateur radio operator. Priscilla had a great love of the arts, being an accomplished artist, poet, pianist, violinist and vocalist. She adored spending time working on her farm, including raising horses and sheep. Her happiest moments were spent outdoors, especially with her grandchildren.
Priscilla is survived by her two sons, Weston L. (Melony M.) Gray and Neil (Laura) Gray; and her six grandchildren, Frasher, Cason, Ella, Evan, Lily, and Alice; as well as her two younger brothers, Robert and William Ridenour.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold (May 24, 1941 – April 24, 2009); a granddaughter, Naomi AnnMarie Gray (July 15, 2008 – July 31, 2008); her parents; and her eldest brother, Don C. Ridenour.
A memorial service will be held for Priscilla at West Union United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 10 AM. A brief lunch and time of fellowship will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Priscilla would like to request monetary donations made to West Union Church, whose support was so important to Priscilla during her final months.
