Phyllis A. Shull, 75, of Dover, died Saturday morning, April 1, 2006 at Hennis Care Center in Dover.Born April 5, 1930 in Canton, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late James Russell and Clara (Wilson) Fisher.In the past, people tuned into radio or television stations to hear Phyllis sing in a trio of the Canton Baptist Temple. She enjoyed sharing her time and energy as a volunteer with the Salvation Army where she was in the Women’s Home League. There, she participated with the soup kitchen and in the clothing room. She also enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and cooking. She has given many of her sewn items to friends and family throughout her lifetime. After finishing her education, she cared for her family and children. She did work at Kapps Restaurant in Canton, Avalon in Kensington, and the IGA in Wilmont. In addition to listening to gospel music, Phyllis grew in her faith while attending the First Church of God in New Philadelphia in recent years. Phyllis will be missed by her husband, Leroy Shull and her family which includes her children; Daryl Shull of Dover, Dale (Mary) Shull of Walnut Creek and Cheryl Weiling; her brothers, Charles Fisher of North Carolina, Kenny Fisher of Carrolton; sisters, Marette (Jack) Lemmon of Copley, Ohio, Ruth (John) Burchfield of Kensington, Dorothy (Ray) Zurbrugg and Carol Richardson, both of Alliance, and Louise (Bernard) Tilkey of Arizona; two sisters-in-law, Jean Fisher of Michigan and Hilary Fisher of Pennsylvania; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and her close friend, Mary Baker.She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, James Jr (Jean) Fisher, Eugene Fisher, John (Hilary) Fisher, Larry Fisher; a sister, Joann Fisher, and her two young children, Roger Lee and Roxann Marie.Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2006 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Geib Funeral Center, 5600 N. Wooster Ave. Dover, where a funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Matt Roe will officiate the service.
