Phoebe Beu

April 1, 2017 — September 15, 2017

Phoebe Beu, 90, of Dover, died Friday, September 15, 2017 at her home.

She was born in Avon, New York on April, 1 1927, a daughter of the late Jesse and May (Olyer) Story.

Phoebe married Eric R. Beu (deceased) on June 1, 1948. They were married 64 years prior to his passing.

She is survived by two daughters, Catherine Beu of Martinez, California, and Sally Beu Emery (Horace Emery) of Charleston, WV; a grandson, Jesse Emery (Emily Denadel Emery) of Brooklyn, NY, and a great-grandson, Jack Emery, also of Brooklyn, New York.

The family wishes to thank an incredible group of Care Givers: Vicky, Carol M., Carol O., Rosemary, Carolyn, Linda, Connie, Theresa, Mary, and Esther as well as her hospice nurse, Elaine, and many other members of the Hospice team were also essential to her care. The family also wishes to thank the owner and employees of Dee’s restaurant, who were so kind to Phoebe as her illness progressed.

They also wish to thank the staff of the Ramada Limited in Strasburg who helped Phoebe by helping her daughter. They were supportive and caring and truly provided a home away from home.

In addition to her husband and parents, Phoebe was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Sally Finger, George Story, Eleanor Baker, and Karl Story.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place through the care of Geib Funeral Center at Dover. There will be a family celebration of Phoebe’s life for friends, neighbors, and caregivers at the family home on September 23 from 12:30 to 4:30. Food and refreshments will be provided.
