Phillip Dale Byers

Phillip Dale Byers, 71 passed away January 4, 2021 following an extended illness in New Dawn Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Dover, Ohio.

Son of the late Howard E. Byers and Jo Anne (Maus) Byers, Philip was born on December 5, 1949 at Dover, Ohio.

Phillip graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1968 and served in the Navy for four years. He lived in California for 40 years after his military service, worked in the healthcare field, and then returned to Tuscarawas County.

Phillip is survived by his sister, Rebecca Byers Auman; his nieces, Stephanie Withem and Leslie (Chris) Hirgelt; his nephew, Adam Burns; his great-nieces and nephews, Nathan and Jaelyn Withem, and Carter Ingram; his great-great niece, Athena Withem; and his aunt, Mary Jane Maus Mathias.

No services will be held and in recognition to his service in the Navy, Phillip will be laid to rest in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at Rittman, Ohio.
