Philip L. Gintz, age 64, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of New Philadelphia, died October 20, 2006, in Batavia, Ohio. Loving son of the late John and Arlene (nee Ladrach) Gintz, Philip was born on April 11, 1942, in Dover. Philip was a member of the First United Church of Christ in New Philadelphia. In 1960, Philip graduated from New Philadelphia High School. Upon high school graduation, he attended Ohio University where he graduated in 1964 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Educational Science. After completing his degree, Philip moved to Cincinnati where he was an educator in the Forest Hills School District for twenty-five years retiring in 1991 from Anderson High School. He is survived by his sister, Susan (Sam) McClelland of Midlothian, Virginia; niece, Stephanie (David) Goode, of Chesterfield, Virginia; nephew, Steven McClelland of San Francisco, California; aunt, Marge Gintz of New Philadelphia; friend, Marilyn Connors of Loveland, Ohio.Friends will be received on Sunday, October 29, 2006, from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia. Rev. Jeffrey Gerber will lead the Gintz funeral Monday morning, October 30 at 11:00 am.
