Peggy Lynn Smith McCullough, age 59, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, November 4, 2014 following a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Born on January 3, 1955, at Akron, Ohio, Peggy is a daughter of the Donzil Smith of Bolivar and the late Madeline (Taylor) Smith.
Peggy attended Tallmadge High School and worked for many years at the former Der Dutchman Restaurant at Bolivar where she was introduced to many of her longtime friends.
She was a loyal friend, and a caring, compassionate, and giving woman who loved her dog, Brody, enjoyed scrapbooking, genealogy, junk food, and being with her family and grandchildren. Her favorite vacation spot was traveling to West Virginia and visiting areas in which her ancestors were raised. As her health allowed, she attended the First Baptist Church at New Philadelphia.
In addition to her father, Peggy will be deeply missed by the joys of her life; her children, Brad Smith of New Philadelphia and Misty (companion, Dave Borg) Smith of Ecorse, Michigan; she loved being known as Nanny to her four grandchildren, Gracie and Madalyn Borg and Pierce and Grant Smith.
Completing her family are her siblings, Donna Killeen of Bolivar, Bart Smith of Canton, Troy (Janet) Smith New Cumberland, and Alan (Angie) Smith of Sherrodsville; a sister-in-law, Glenda Smith; and many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
The family will greet guests during a memorial visitation on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from Noon – 1:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor Floyd Stanfill will lead a service celebrating Peggy’s life in the funeral home’s chapel at 1:00 PM.
