Peggy J. Lorenz

Peggy J. Lorenz, 74, of Newcomerstown died Thursday, August, 10, 2006, in her home following a brief illness.Peggy was born April 28, 1932, in Uhrichsville to her parents, James Orloff “Mac” McMillin and Ruth Estella Downs. She was a graduate of Stone Creek High School.Peggy was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ in Stone Creek and was active in the Women’s Circles, attended and taught Sunday School, and sang in the Church Choir for over fifty years. Peggy enjoyed bowling and was most recently a member of the Senior Citizens League at Kinser Lanes.Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Lorenz; her parents; brother, William McMillin; sister, Annabelle Davis.Peggy is survived by her children, B.J. (William) Gano of Newcomerstown, Bob (Cindy) Lorenz of New Philadelphia, Jim (Chris) Lorenz of Tallmadege, Bill (Jennifer) Lorenz of Wadsworth, John Lorenz and Marlene of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Andy (Beth) Gano, Dr. Abby Gano, Marcie Lorenz, Jason Lorenz, Sarah Lorenz, Amanda Lorenz, Lindsey Lorenz, Mitchell Lorenz; great grandchildren, Emily, Andrea, Andrew Gano; sisters, Betty Lorenz of Newcomerstown, Mary Lou Gordon of Dover, Dorothy Wisard of Winesburg.Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 13, 2006, from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia. Services will be conducted by Rev. Carlan Helgeson on Monday at 11:00 A.M. at the Grace United Church of Christ in Stone Creek. Internment will be held at the Stone Creek Cemetery.A reception will be held at the Grace United Church of Christ following the committal.Memorial contributions to honor Peggy’s life may be sent to the Memorial Fund or Scholarship Fund at Grace United Church of Christ, 229 West Jefferson, Stone Creek, OH 43840.
