M. Pauline Quillin, age 87, of New Philadelphia, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015, following a brief illness.
A daughter of the late Peter and Stella (Novak) Yanice, Pauline was born at New Cumberland, Ohio on March 22, 1928.
Pauline was a graduate of Dover High School and for many years, she was a familiar face at Atwood Lodge and Union Country Club where she was employed as a waitress. She also worked for The House of Stones in Downtown New Philadelphia and in her retirement years, enjoyed working as a Family Center Hostess for the Geib Funeral Homes.
Pauline was a member of the New Cumberland United Methodist Church and an active member of the New Philadelphia Ladies Auxiliary and a past member of the Eastern Star and Red Hat Society.
In her free time, Pauline enjoyed being with her family and friends. She loved going out to eat on a regular basis and socializing with those around her, taking shopping trips and spending countless hours working jigsaw puzzles.
Pauline was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by numerous family members and countless friends.
On April 26, 2000, Pauline married a longtime acquaintance, Ron Quillin. Together the couple celebrated nine years of marriage prior to his passing on May 26, 2009. Additionally, Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Joe, Stanley and John Yanice, and her second husband, T. Scott Slates.
A Celebration of Pauline’s life will be led by Pastor Ted Knapp on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 2:30 PM in the chapel of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where the family will greet guests one hour prior the service. Burial will take place in the New Cumberland Cemetery.
