Pauline G Mazzy

Pauline G. Mazzy, 94, of Midvale, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 in Park Village Healthcare Center at Dover following a short period of declining health.

Born June 13, 1918 in Midvale, she was the daughter of the late Curtis James and Bessie Ellen (Tidrick) Swinderman.

Pauline was united in marriage in 1939 to her late husband, Daniel Robert Mazzy who preceded her in death in 1978.

She was employed at Harts Family Center for more than 13 years. In retirement, she still enjoyed going there and watching people. Pauline also loved and supported her family whether it was just sitting around having conversation, at a family get-together, or at a great-grandchild’s sporting event. Frequent visits with her dear friends and completing puzzle books also gave her much delight.

Pauline will be deeply missed by her daughters, Diane (Randal) Longacher of Dover and Pat (Lyle) Matlick of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Scott (Cindy) McCartney of Dover, Shelly (Ron) Stahl of New Philadelphia, Jeff (Jackie) Matlick of Dennison, Greg (Connie) Matlick of New Philadelphia; her great-grandchildren, Jordan and Maddison McCartney, Ciara (Nicholas) Harshey, Cory, Tricia, Morgan, and Brandon Matlick, Huston Stahl, and Maria (Steve) Haberman; her great-great-grandson, Nolan Harshey; and two nephews, one niece and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Pauline was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Menapace and Cora Wolfe.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Sunday, December 16 from 1 to 3 p.m. A service celebrating Pauline’s life will be held in the funeral home’s chapel on Monday morning beginning at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Don Rice, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.

Friends are invited to the Geib Family Center, located adjacent to the funeral home, where a meal will be shared following the committal service.

Memorial contributions in Pauline’s memory may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
