H. Pauline Davis, 81, of New Philadelphia, went to be with the Lord early Tuesday morning, March 23, 2010 in New Dawn Retirement Community at Dover.A daughter of the late Ernest and Mary (Tylke) Bertoline, Pauline was born February 27, 1929 at Newport, Ohio.A life long resident of the area, Pauline graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1947. On August 26, 1950 she married the love of her life, John “Dick” Davis in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia where she was a member. The couple shared 59 years of marriage prior to Dick’s passing on July 17, 2009.Pauline was a homemaker and took great pride in caring for Dick and her three children, Toni, Bruce and Amy. In addition to her duties at home, she was employed at J.C. Penny Department Store at New Philadelphia as well as a representative for Home Interiors.She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends which often involved camping trips to Tappan Lake or to Pride Valley; playing cards or dancing with Dick. Pauline had a love for music, especially classical music. She is survived by her children, Toni DeBois and Amy (Don) May, both of New Philadelphia, and Bruce R. Davis of Canton; six grandchildren, Jon-Paul DeBois, Chantelle DeBois, Jaime DeBois, Sarah Davis, Christopher May and Hunter May; one great-grandson, Hunter McKelly; a sister, Patricia DeMeo of New Philadelphia and a brother, Terry (Debbie) Bertoline of California.Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dick and a beloved nephew, Rodney “Chico” DeMeo.The family will receive guests on Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 6 to8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Pauline’s life will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel on Friday, March 26, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Monsignor George Schlegel officiating. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Following the committal service, a memorial reception will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia. .Contributions may be made in Pauline’s memory to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, OH 44622.
