Paul Warne Edwards, 69, of New Philadelphia, died April 4, 2007, at his residence with his family by his side.The youngest son of the late Clayton Clair and M. Lucille Robeson Edwards, Paul was born on November 4, 1937, in New Philadelphia. In 1955, Paul graduated from New Philadelphia High School. In 1978, he became a member of the first year of the Hiram College Weekend Program. Paul was an instructor for the Dale Carnegie courses for 20 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Uhrichsville. He enjoyed traveling abroad, volunteering for the Ohio Reads program, and working with both the Claymont and New Philadelphia High Schools’ marching bands. He was a well known public speaker and in 2005 formed Edwards, Edwards and Associates of which he was president.In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Edwards; and sister, Lillian Burrier.He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ruth, whom he married August 13, 1960; children, Warne (Teri) Edwards, Wendy (Lenza) Stephens; grandchildren, Kaeleen, Elisha, and Nichelle Edwards; step-grandchildren, Arden and Denise Stephens; brothers, Gerald Edwards of New Philadelphia, Clair (Beverly) Edwards of New Philadelphia; sister, Beverly (Fred) Turner of New Philadelphia; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by aunt, Bernice Robeson of New Philadelphia; sister-in-law, Nancy (Louis) Pettit of Bradenton, Florida; cousins and traveling companions, Edwin (Bonnie) Edwards.Friends are invited to call Thursday, April 12, 2007, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Linn-Hert Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Rev. Sarah Cerreto will lead the memorial service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, in the funeral home chapel.The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W.
