Paul L. Walencik, 44, of Sherrodsville, died Sunday, July 23, 2006 in Union Hospital at Dover following a brief illness.A son of the late Paul and Norma (Thompson) Walencik, Paul was born March 22, 1962 in Pontiac, Michigan.He was a 1980 graduate of Pontiac Northern High School in Michigan. Paul was a talented landscaper. He worked for Gooding’s Nursery for 11 years where he served as a production coordinator.Paul was a member of the Leesville Faith Community Chapel. He enjoyed cooking and he enjoyed creating his own recipes. Paul enjoyed listening to Motown music and he always was able to make people laugh. But most of all, he will be remembered by his family as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Lorie (Armstrong) Walencik, whom he married on June 15, 1990; children, Nichole (Jarrod) Wyke of Michigan, Justin (fiancé Jennifer Hershberger) Walencik of the home and Emily Walencik of the home; grandchildren, Chloe, Blake and Caleb Wyke, and Kayden Deitsch; brother, Thomas (Sandy Stewart) Walencik of Michigan; sister, Sharon Walencik of Michigan; Father-in-law and mother-in-law, Terry and Kay Armstrong of Sherrodsville; sisters-in-law, Sherry (Stan) Burkhart of Sherrodsville and Polly (Andy) Kopka of Dover; brother-in-law, Ron (Debbie) Armstong of New Philadelphia; nephews, Joe Burkhart, Ethan Armstrong, Tom Walencik and Dustin Stewart and nieces, Megan and Molly Armstrong, Tiffany Walencik, Sarah (Jason) Drummond, Paula McClelland, Pamela Laurdisen, Jennifer Thompson and Brittany Swisher.A funeral service celebrating Paul’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at 7 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia with Pastor Doug Mallernee officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
