Paul Eugene Evans Sr.

Paul Eugene Evans Sr, 53, of New Philadelphia, died Monday, June 7, 2010 in Union Hospital at Dover following a year long illness.A son of the late Wilma P. (Evans) Irwin, Paul was born November 26, 1956 at Cambridge, Ohio.On October 16, 1978, Paul married the former Shelby Caldwell. Together, the couple raised three children: Paul, Melissa and Billie Jo.He was retired as a crossing guard for the city of New Philadelphia safely helping children cross the five points intersection for many years. Paul also was a dishwasher at the former Court House Café.Paul was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed fishing, hunting and swimming. Most of all, he dearly loved his grandchildren and cherished the time spent with them.In addition to his wife of 31 years, Paul is survived by his children, Paul Evans Jr. and his fiancée, Erica Kandel; Melissa Evans and Billie Jo Schott and her husband Alex all of New Philadelphia; 18 grandchildren and a Brother, Ray Dean (Pam) Irwin of New Philadelphia.The family will receive guests on Thursday, June 10, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
