Paul E. Mason

Paul E. Mason, 80, of New Philadelphia, died Friday August 13, 2004 at Union Hospital following a period of declining health. He was born July 15, 1924 at Dean, West Virginia to the late John G. and Olive (Livingston) Mason. He had resided in New Philadelphia since 1958.Paul was a member of the New Philadelphia Church of Christ, where he was a former deacon, and was a retired custodian having worked in the New Philadelphia Public School System and for the Times-Reporter. He also was a WWII veteran having served in the Army Air Corp.Paul is survived by his wife, Ruth (Morris) whom he married Dec. 24, 1947; sons, Doyle E. (Esther) Mason and Edwin J. Mason both of New Philadelphia; Grandchildren, Rob (Jill), Gary (Andreana) and Scott (Rene) Mason; and a great granddaughter, Madison.In addition to his parents Paul was preceded in death by a son, Evan Mason; a sister, Rhoda Morris; and brothers, Jesse W., George E., and Oliver Mason.Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 17, 2004, 10:30AM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory of New Philadelphia with Evangelist Randy Chapman officiating. Calling hours will be held Monday from 1 to 3 PM and 6 to 8 PM. Burial will be at Sunset Hills in Canton.
