Paul E. Fox

Paul E. Fox, 62, of Dover, passed away following an apparent heart attack on October 2, 2021. He spent the day on the race track doing what he loved!

Born in Austin, Texas on May 20, 1959, he was the son of Donna Lou (Bleininger) Fox and the late James E. Fox.

After graduating from high school, Paul honorably served his country in the United States Air Force as an airplane mechanic, retiring after 10 years as a staff sergeant.

While in the service, he met and fell in love with his wife, the former Coleen R. Witherell, and were wed on January 20, 1983 in Texas. Together, they moved to Ohio where he began his professional career with the former Empire Detroit and Greer Steel. He was working with ProVia where he served for more than 20 years and where he previously managed the paint booth.

Paul’s father was very influential in his life, teaching him the importance of service to his country. When his father, Jim, came home from service one time, he bought Paul his first dirt bike. Together, Paul’s family spent thousands of hours participating in their passion of racing dirt bikes.

Paul not only loved dirt bike racing, but was a deeply devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by his wife of 38 years, Coleen; his daughters, Heather (Nick) Rufener and Jennifer (Erik) Immel, both of Dover; his grandchildren, Makenna, Kaitlynn, and Caden Rufener; his mother, Donna Fox of Dover; his mother-in-law, Jeanette Look of New York; his sister, Cindy (Dewey) Costanza of Dover; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 5 to 8 p.m. A service celebrating Paul’s life will be held in the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 10:30 a.m. with his nephew, Chris Costanza, officiating.
