Paul C. Welsh, Jr., 54, New Philadelphia, died at his home on Friday morning, November 5, 2004, following a brief illness.Born in Columbus, Ohio on January 22, 1950, he was the son of the late Paul and Elizabeth (Tharp) Welsh, Sr., and was a 1968 graduate of Brookhaven High School in Columbus.A resident of New Philadelphia for 21 years, he became friends with everyone who knew him. He was a salesman for Wickes Lumber in Newcomerstown, Wolohan Lumber in Dover, Marsh Industries, and most recently, for Alliance Wholesalers in Alliance, Ohio.Paul was enthusiastic about life. He loved having fun with friends and family, made numerous visits to Disney World in Florida, enjoyed golfing, and loved his dogs, Sugar, Lucy, Sam, and BB.He will be missed by his wife, Diane, with whom he shared 34 years of marriage; his daughter and son-in-law, Jenni and Joe Wade of Dayton, O.; grandson, Cooper Wade; sisters, Judi (Bob) Hamann of Cincinnati, O., and Vicki Welsh; and brother, Bill (Debbie) Welsh of Pataskala.Visitation will be Sunday afternoon, November 7, 2004, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia. Immediately following visitation, friends and family are invited to a reception in the Geib Family Center to celebrate Paul’s life with stories and laughter. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.in Columbus.The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W. Third Street, Dover, O. 44622.
