Patricia Jane Scott, age 70, of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 under the care of Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia.
Born in New Philadelphia, Ohio on July 23, 1942, Patricia was the daughter of the late Max and Thelma (Gross) Eckert.
She attended New Philadelphia High School and for a period of time worked at the Rite Aid which was formerly located in Downtown New Philadelphia.
Patricia had a deep love for her family and enjoyed the time spent with them vacationing. She was especially fond of the opportunities in which she took her granddaughter, Heather, horseback riding at Pegasus Farms and working on ceramics with her granddaughter, Tiffany. Since her stroke in August 2012, her primary caregiver has been her granddaughter, Christina who was always able to make her glow, even when she was not feeling the best.
Survivors include her three children, Robert A. Scott and Peggy (Cliff) Musgrave of New Philadelphia and Carol (Perry) Schultz of Dover; seven grandchildren, Joshua and Kirsten Scott, Heather and Christina (Aaron) Baker and Tiffany Baker-Moulton, Tyler (Nichole) Schultz and Tyson (Natasha) Schultz; three step-grandchildren, William (Diane) and David Musgrave and Tiffany (James) Sargent; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Brody Schultz and two step-great-grandchildren, Micah and Ezra Sargent.
Completing the family are brothers Lanny Eckert and Robert Ike (Cheri) Eckert; a sister Irene (Joe) Mutersbaugh and many special friends and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Scott.
Upon the death of John, it was the family’s desire to hold a combined service honoring the lives of the couple. In keeping with that wish, a Celebration of Life service for both Patricia and John will be led by Pastor Andy McClung on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 5:00 PM. The family will greet guests one hour prior to services on Friday, June 7, 2013 from 4:00 – 5:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Immediately following, all are invited to share in a time of food and fellowship in the social hall of the Community Baptist Church, 420 E Third Street, Dover.
