Patricia L. (Osburn) Byler, 85, of New Philadelphia, died Sunday, March 30, 2014 in Community Hospice House of Tuscarawas County following a period of declining health.
A daughter of the late Roy and Ruth (Elliott) Osburn, Patricia was born July 2, 1928 at East Springfield, Ohio.
Patricia attended Scio High School and was a longtime employee of Scio Pottery and also ALSCO at Sugarcreek. She enjoyed baking, sewing, ceramics, quilting, fishing and square dancing. She also enjoyed numerous social activities at Country Club Retirement Center at Dover where she was a resident for the past three years.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Kenneth Beamer, William Henry, Albert Grove and Eli Byler; two sisters, Betty Lee and Geraldine Webb; two brothers, Richard and Donald Osburn and a great granddaughter, Amber Pinto Jones.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Saundra Hinkle of Columbus, Ohio, Kenneth (Karla) Beamer of Westerville, Ohio and Dianne (Dean) Renicker and Deb Swiney both of New Philadelphia; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
Completing the family are Step children, Linda (Loren Books) Lucie, Garry (Becky) Byler, Sally (Ed) May, Vickie (Mike) Heitzman, Tami (Jim) Eberly, Eli Byler, Rene (George) Miller and Mark Byler; 26 step grandchildren; 54 step great grandchildren; 23 step great-great grandchildren and numerous other extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and again one hour prior to the service on Thursday. A funeral service celebrating Patricia’s life will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Gary Swogger officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery at Uhrichsville. Following the committal service a luncheon will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia.
Patricia’s family would like to thank the staff of the Community Hospice House and to Dr. McFadden for their loving care during her final days.
