Patricia Karnosh, age 80, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Bethany Village care facility in Centerville, Ohio.
Pat was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 25, 1936 to the late Frank and Dolores (Bucey) Pattison. At age two, she met her future husband, John (Jack) Karnosh, and they married on April 22, 1960. Jack preceded her in death in April of 1991.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Louise Owen) Karnosh of Pembroke Pines, FL; sons, Kenneth (Patricia) Karnosh of Springboro, OH, John Robert (Mae Yuen) Karnosh of Miramar, FL, Richard (Cheryle) Karnosh of Ashland, OH, and 8 grandchildren.
Pat was a longtime resident of New Philadelphia, Ohio, where she served as the secretary for the First Presbyterian church for many years. She enjoyed singing in the choir, and making the occasional pot of soup for the homeless shelter. She was a strong supporter of the Friends of the Library and the Tuscarawas Philharmonic, serving as an officer and board member. Her open heart, sharp intelligence and lively sense of humor won her friends throughout her life. Pat could often be seen walking near Tuscora Park, with her dog Lady; and loved when her grandchildren came to visit so she had an excuse for another ride on the carousel. She also enjoyed baking, working crosswords, a fine meal, and the occasional gimlet or sip of Gentlemen Jack with a good friend.
Visitation with the family will be held Saturday, November 5th from 11:00 to 12:30 at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home, 116 Second Street NE, New Philadelphia Ohio. A graveside service will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, the New Philadelphia Friends of the Library, or the Tuscarawas Philharmonic. Please visit www.anderson-fh.com to send an online condolence.
